​​​Moon/Mid-Autumn Festival | 9.13.2013

中秋節 (Mid-Autumn Festival) is upon us, it will be on September 19 (Thursday) this year. The festival is a celebration for great harvest and to honor the moon. Books such as Thanking the Moon by Grace Lin and Lin Yi's Lantern: A Moon Festival Tale by Brenda Williams are ways to introduce this time honored holiday to the family. 

 

Fall series to begin in October | 9.11.2013

Summer went by in a blink of an eye and we have had such a blast with our Spring and Summer classes. The class got to use the great outdoors as our classrooms on many occasions. We have learned about the earth and stars, dinosaurs and marine life, just to name a few. As we get into the Fall season, we look forward to rolling in leaves, explore more Chinese traditions and showing you what the season has to offer.

Spring series has begun! We have been enjoying the sunshine with activities inside and outside. Feel free to contact us to make an arrangement as a drop-in. We are offering prorated fees for the remaining series.

​One of Yi-Chun's favorite websites is the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture - Children's site. While the site is composed in Chinese, the main page has a link to a wonderful assortment of books that are animated, and in video format. The link is included here so you may click on any of the story books that seem interesting to you and your family, and begin hearing stories in Mandarin Chinese.​
